The Illinois Department of Human Services Division of Developmental Disabilities announced last night the requirement to close all Community Day Services (CDS) Programs through April 15th. Letters will be sent to the families and guardians of CDS clients. We will be keeping AID CILA residents at AID CILA homes and Community clients will be staying at their community homes . CDS Staff will be deployed to support people in AID CILAs. We are working with CDS Directors and others to develop and disseminate activities and crafts for the residents to do. We will not be taking clients to routine medical appointments to minimize exposure to germs. We are encouraging family members and guardians to visit with their loved ones via Skype, FaceTime or telephone. If a family member wishes to visit in person with their loved one, they should be prepared to bring them to their family home for a minimum of 14 days.
AID has been unable to purchase no touch thermometers to date. Therefore, we have revised the Visitor Screening Questionnaire to be performed at all locations with anyone seeking to come in to our properties. The questions remain the same as earlier versions but we have removed the consent for no touch temperature and added Reason for Visit (which should include the location), Date, Time, Signature and Printed Name of the visitor.
An informational letter for Behavioral Health residents, reminding them about ways to minimize the spread of germs, advising them to practice social distancing and asking them to limit visitors to their homes. This letter will also remind BH residents about the availability of telephonic support and therapy, the ability to reschedule their appointments and encouraging them to use the Crisis Line if needed.
